On October 7, 2020 City Council approved a CDBG-CV entitlement contract with Lee County Human and Veteran Services for the U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as part of the CARES Act program. The contract provided for an expiration date of February 28, 2023.

The City entered into six (6) sub-recipient agreements with local non-profits to provide food insecurity programs to the Citizens of Bonita Springs.

Amendment #1 extended the CDBG-CV funding from February 28, 2023 to September 30, 2023 and approved by City Council on January 18, 2023.

Amendment #2 extends the program from September 30, 2023 to June 30, 2024 in order for three (3) of the sub-recipients to expend their food insecurity funds. The remaining three (3) sub-recipients have spent their allocation and staff has closed their contracts.
