The City of Bonita Springs is continuing to celebrate the city’s 25th anniversary in 2024. During the celebration, the city is publishing short videos highlighting Bonita Springs’ history, hosting contests, and encouraging citizens to join the enhanced celebrations throughout the year.
The city will also enhance the seasonal décor to celebrate the city’s 25th anniversary. A new enhanced feature includes lighting the street poles lining Old 41 and adding holiday décor enhancements in the medians. Staff advertised a request for proposals for this project and Miami Christmas Lights responded with a sufficient proposal. In order to provide adequate installation time, the enhanced decorations will be installed on the light poles and medians this fall in the downtown area. The work will begin in September and the decor will be on display in November. As the work will begin in this fiscal year, funding for this project is available in FY2023/2024 budget within the general fund operating contingency budget.
